Basic Radiation Protection Refresher

This half-day course is designed to refresh workers who have received basic radiation protection before. It will consist of interactive discussions and quizzes and will answer any concerns delegates have during their work with ionising radiation. On attending this course you will be refreshed in order that you can retain the following objectives:

• Know what ionising radiation is and its different types.
• Be aware of the biological effects of ionising radiation and have an appreciation of the associated risks.
• Understand the basic principles of radiation protection.
• Be aware of different types of radiation monitors and their uses.
• Have an overview of UK radiation protection legislation
