Intake of Radionuclides

This half day course covers the intake of radionuclide into the human body.

By the end of the course, the delegate will understand what an internal hazard is, routes of entry, the differences in radio-toxicity, the biological damage process (short and long term effects), the difference between deterministic and stochastic effects and have a good appreciation of the principles of protection against internal hazards.

In addition, the delegate will be familiar with assessment methods used, understand the dose unit of Committed Effective Dose (CED), be aware of varying radio-toxicity of different nuclides and put radiation risks into perspective.

This is an excellent short course for those wishing to achieve a better understanding of this subject.
