Dounreay - Our offices in Caithness, Scotland are on the UKAEA Dounreay site.

Winfrith - We have two main offices in Dorset: Building A31 at the Winfrith Technology Centre and Building D60 on the UKAEA Winfrith site.

Windscale / Westlakes - In Cumbria we have one office on the UKAEA Windscale site as well as new offices at Robinson House at the Westlakes Science and Technology Park near Whitehaven.

Chadwick House

From M6 North
Leave the M6 at junction 21a (signed Manchester, Bolton, Leeds & M62).
Join the M62 towards Manchester and exit at next junction (11) and turn right onto the A574 towards Birchwood.
Continue over the next roundabout.
At the next roundabout turn right onto Faraday Street.
Turn left into Chadwick Place, then left into the visitors' carpark.

From M6 South
Leave the M6 at junction 21 (signed Warrington, Irlam & A57).
Join the B5210 (Woolston Grange Avenue).
Continue straight over 4 roundabouts.
At the fifth roundabout turn right onto A574 (Birchwood Way).
Pass over the M6 motorway.
Continue over the next roundabout.
At the next roundabout turn left into Faraday Street.
Turn left into Chadwick Place, then left into the visitors' carpark.

Harwell - The Library & B351

From M4 J13 South
Leave the M4 at junction 13 (signed Oxford, Newbury & A34).
Join the A34 heading north towards Oxford. Continue on the A34 for 10 miles until the Chiltern Interchange (signed Wantage & A4185).
Turn left at the end of the slip road onto the A4185. Continue for ½ mile:

The Library - turn left at first and second roundabouts onto Fermi Avenue. At the next roundabout turn right into Eighth Street. The Library is located on the left past the next roundabout.

B351 - go straight ahead at the first roundabout and the main gate is located about 300 yards on the left. Visitors should report to main gate reception to collect pass.

From M40 J9 North
Leave the M40 at junction 9 (signed Oxford, Newbury & A34).
Join the A34 heading south towards Didcot, Newbury and the M4.
Continue on the A34 for 22 miles and exit at Milton Interchange.
Take the fourth exit onto the A4130.
Remain on the A4130 for 2 miles and continue straight over the Rowstock roundabout onto the A4185. Continue for 1.5 miles:

B351 - the main gate is located on the right Visitors should report to main gate reception to collect pass.

The Library - turn right at the first roundabout and right at the second onto Fermi Avenue. At the next roundabout turn right into Eighth Street. The Library is located on the left past the next roundabout.

By Train
Harwell is 5 miles south-west of Didcot Parkway which is served by trains from London Paddington, Birmingham, West of England and South Wales.

By Air
Harwell is one hour from London Heathrow airport.

By Road
Follow the A9 north from Inverness to Latheron (87 miles).
Turn left at Latheron and continue on the A9 through Thurso, going straight on at the first set of traffic lights and right at the second set.
Continue past the Scrabster turn-off and join the A836.
The Dounreay site can be found on the right after 10 miles.
All visitors must use car park to the left or right of the road to site and then report to the main gate reception.

By Train
Thurso station is 10 miles from Dounreay and is served by trains from Inverness and Wick.

By Air
Dounreay is 40 minutes from Wick airport and 2½ from Inverness Dalcross airport.

All visitors to Dounreay must report to main gate reception, collect pass and await escort.

Winfrith - Buildings A31 & D60

From M27
Join the A31 via Ringwood and Wimborne for 32 miles to Bere Regis.
At Bere Regis follow signs for Bovington Army Camp and Wool.
At roundabout junction with A352 turn right towards Weymouth.
Drive through Wool to the Burton Cross roundabout:

A31 - turn right at roundabout and follow the road to the Winfrith Technology Centre site entrance.

D60 - continue over roundabout on the A353 for about 2.5 miles. Turn right opposite the Red Lion Inn onto Gatemore Road and after a further mile turn right into UKAEA Winfrith site.

From Dorchester
D60 - Follow the A352 towards Wareham. At the rounabout after Broadmayne take the second exit and then, after about 5 miles, turn left at the Red Lion Inn onto Gatemore Road. After a further mile turn right into UKAEA Winfrith site.

A31 - Follow the A352 towards Wareham for 9.4 miles. At Burton Cross roundabout turn left and follow the road to the Winfirth Technology Centre entrance.

By Train
Winfith is 1 mile west of Wool station which is served by trains from London, Waterloo and Southampton Central.

By Air
Winfrith is 1¼ hours from Southampton Eastleigh Airport, 2½ hours from London Heathrow Airport and 1 hour from Bournemouth Hurn Airport.

Windscale

From the South
Leave the M6 at junction 36 (signed Barrow-in-Furness, Kirby, Lonsdale & A590).
Join the A590 following signs for Barrow-in-Furness and remain on the A590 for 20 miles.
Turn right onto the A5092 following signs for Workington and remain on that road for 6 miles.
Join the A595 (signed Workington) and remain on this road for 30 miles past Gosforth.
At the village of Calder Bridge, turn left, following signs for Sellafield and North Gate.

From the North
Leave the M6 at junction 43 (signed Carlisle & A69).
Join the A69 towards Carlisle and remain on this road for 2 miles.
At the roundabout for the A595, take the first exit onto the A595 (signed Cockermouth).
Remain on the A595 for 46 miles past Cockermouth, Whitehaven and Egremont.
At the village of Calder Bridge, turn right, following signs for Sellafield and North Gate.

By Train
Sellafield is served by trains from Carlisle, Whitehaven, Workington and Barrow-in-Furness.

By Air
The closest international airports are Manchester and Newcastle.

All visitors must report to North Gate reception, collect pass and await escort.

Westlakes

From the South
Leave the M6 at junction 40 (signed North Lakes, Penrith, Keswick & A66).
Join the A66 towards Keswick.
Remain on the A66 for 30 miles, until the roundabout junction with the A595, west of Cockermouth.
Take the first exit onto the A595 towards Whitehaven and remain on this road for 13 miles until the junction for Westlakes Science Park.
Turn left at the traffic lights and then take the first exit at the roundabout.
Robinson House is located on the right at the top of the hill.

From the North
Leave the M6 at junction 43 (signed Carlisle & A69).
Join the A69 towards Carlisle and remain on this road for 2 miles.
At the roundabout for the A595, take the first exit onto the A595 (signed Cockermouth).
Remain on the A595 for 40 miles past Whitehaven until the junction for Westlakes Science Park.
Turn left at the traffic lights and then take the first exit at the roundabout.
Robinson House is located on the right at the top of the hill.

By Train
Whitehaven is served by trains from Carlisle, Workington and Barrow-in-Furness. Robinson House is a 10 minute taxi ride from Whitehaven station.
